Retrocalcaneal Bursitis
Retrocalcaneal bursitis is inflammation of the fluid-filled sac near your knee joint which reduces friction and cushion pressure between the bones and tendons. The bursa lies over the heel bone, also known as the calcaneus. This inflammation is due to the bursa becoming irritated due to repeated use or overuse or the production of too much bursal fluid.
